Dear Participants of the World Divine Mercy Congress,
Dear Woshippers of Divine Mercy,
In view of the huge scale of piling-up problems, dangers and crises, and especially in view of the danger of losing faith by the young generations, we are gathered in the Shrine of Divine Mercy in Krakow-agiewniki to contemplate the face of Merciful Jesus and to look for the motifs of hope. Once again we heard the words of Jesus adressed to Sister Faustina: “Mankind will not have peace until it turns with trust to Mercy”( Diary 300). Interpreting the message of Merciful Jesus, Holy Father John Paul II accomplished the historical act of entrustment of the world to Divine Mercy and remembered that from here went forth the “spark of Divine Mercy”, which as the fire of mercy has to pervade the whole world. He said then: “May this message radiate from this place to our beloved homeland and throughout the world. May the binding promise of the Lord Jesus be fulfilled: from here there must go forth “the spark which will prepare the world for his final coming” (Diary 1732). This spark needs to be lighted by the grace of God. His fire of mercy needs to be passed on the Word” (John Paul II, Homily in agiewniki, 17.08.2002).
