of the world''
An invitation to a common international prayer
“ The Chaplet of Divine Mercy at the intersections of the towns of the world"
The Truce of God is spreading to the hearts of the believers when they stand in God’s presence holding a chaplet in their hands and by devoting themselves entirely to Divine Mercy call: Jesus, I trust in you.
Since four years we have turned up at the corners of the streets of the crowded cities, sleeping towns and country crossroads on the same day and at the same hour to ask God’s Mercy for us and entire world. We named this apostolic action: “ The Chaplet of Divine Mercy on the streets of the world”. There are a lot of people standing humbly on a footpath and crossroad this day to say this holy prayer solitarily, in pair or in a small group.
We are also inviting You, to turn up at an intersection in the front of Your house, office, factory, school, church, on the 28th day of September, 2011 at 3 p.m., to be united with Jesus dying on the cross and to say, together with us, The Chaplet of Divine Mercy, this miraculous prayer that is able to change not only You and me but the whole world as well.
The 3 p.m. is the hour of Christ’s dying ( the hour of Divine Mercy) and a time of divine grace for those who trustingly beg for God’s mercy for themselves and neighbors. Therefore, before we begin to pray The Chaplet of Divine Mercy we may unite each other with Jesus dying on the cross by the words:
“O Blood and Water that gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a fountain of mercy for us, I trust in You”. While saying this prayer we may contemplate on Jesus’ agony undertaken due to God’s love to us and entrust our intentions to God to be answered.
This way we may learn how to practice a prayer at The Hour of Divine Mercy. Both, The Chaplet of Divine Mercy as well as The Hour of Divine Mercy were given to St. Faustyna Kowalska by Jesus himself. The Chaplet of Divine Mercy is an exceptional prayer that is supposed to be said faithfully and spread to the others. This is a prayer in right now.
Well then, let us turn with confidence to Merciful God that He may forgive our sins and bless
every day of our life.
...Since this question relates to the natural moral law, the arguments that follow are addressed not only to those who believe in Christ, but to all persons committed to promoting and defending the common good of society...
...Thirty years later, taking up the words of the Council and with the same forcefulness I repeat that condemnation in the name of the whole Church, certain that I am interpreting the genuine sentiment of every upright conscience: "Whatever is opposed to life itself, such as any type of murder, genocide, abortion, euthanasia, or wilful self-destruction, whatever violates the integrity of the human person, such as mutilation, torments inflicted on body or mind, attempts to coerce the will itself; whatever insults human dignity, such as subhuman living conditions, arbitrary imprisonment, deportation, slavery, prostitution, the selling of women and children; as well as disgraceful working conditions, where people are treated as mere instruments of gain rather than as free and responsible persons; all these things and others like them are infamies indeed. They poison human society, and they do more harm to those who practise them than to those who suffer from the injury. Moreover, they are a supreme dishonour to the Creator".
The “Chaplet of Divine Mercy on the city streets of the world” is a prayer event initiated by the “Sparkle of Divine Mercy” Group, based in Lodz, the Sanctuary of Divine Mercy in Bialystok and the St. Faustina Mission initiative from Warsaw.
On the 28th of September, we commemorate in the liturgy Bl. Michal Sopocko – St. Faustina’s confessor and powerful apostle of theDivine Mercy.
The difficult times for the Church through which we are living prompt us to pray for various intentions. This year we would like to propose 5 fundamental ones:
1. For the Holy Father – Pope Benedict XVI – in the face of tremendous aggression from the enemies of the Church – for the miracle of peace and respect as well as faithfulness and firmness
2. For the victims of natural disasters in Haiti and other parts of the world; as well as for Poland, facing national tragedy after the presidential airplane crash and the devastating floods which affected thousands of people – for the miracle of trust in Divine Mercy
3. For marriages in crisis, those endangered by a divorce and those divorced already – for a miracle of reconciliation and marital unity
4. For the unborn children and their parents – for a miracle of birth and love from those who gave them life.
5. For our home cities, in which we live and pray – for a miracle of being merciful to all people in need.
Only the grace of our merciful God allows us to perform these actions – “In Him we live, move and have our being (Acts 17:28).
